More Than the Show Floor: Barcelona Beyond Fira

If you’re carving out a little time between meetings and stand duty, the city has plenty to offer just beyond the exhibition halls.

A few great spots to explore while you’re in town:

Montjuïc -

Located right next to Fira, this area is ideal if time is tight. Walk or cable car up to Montjuïc Castle for sweeping views across the city and port, explore the Olympic Ring, or visit museums like MNAC. It’s perfect for a morning walk or a quick reset after a long day on the stand.

Poble-sec -

One of Barcelona’s most authentic neighbourhoods and just downhill from Montjuïc. Carrer de Blai is famous for its affordable pinchos and relaxed atmosphere, making it ideal for informal networking, team dinners, or a casual drink after the show.

El Born -

A historic district with a creative edge. Expect narrow streets, independent boutiques, art galleries, and excellent restaurants. It’s a great choice for evening strolls, client dinners, or extending conversations beyond the exhibition floor.

Barceloneta Beach -

If your schedule allows, a walk along the seafront is a great way to unwind. Plenty of seafood restaurants line the promenade, and even a short visit offers a refreshing break from packed halls and meeting rooms.

La Sagrada Família -

Barcelona’s most iconic landmark and an essential visit, whether it’s your first trip or not. Booking tickets in advance is recommended, but even seeing it from the outside is an unforgettable experience.

Barcelona is one of those cities where business and culture blend effortlessly. If you’re attending an exhibition at Fira, it’s worth stepping outside the halls and experiencing the city that hosts it.
